What’s Wrong with Sweaty Hands?

Traditional Chinese medicine thinks, sweat is the heart fluid and sweat too much can cause qi and blood deficient. There is a record of ancient emperor neijing states that limbs are base of all Yang, which means human limbs are the source of Yang, and the hand is the foundation of the Yang. Abnormal hand sweat, or even cause complications, indicates spleen and stomach problems.

Physicians points out that the hand sweat belongs to the normal physiology phenomenon and can help to heat dissipation, regulate body temperature, nourish skin, and excrete metabolic waste. Abnormal sweating, however, is often associated with spleen and stomach disorders.

The reaction of hand sweat and comorbidity

1. The limbs are the capital of the Yang and predominance of the Yang means strong limbs. If the limbs are constantly shaking, and cannot hold things, it represents the essence of the body has been deficient.

2. Spleen controls limbs muscle. The dysfunction of the spleen and stomach causes the body fluid by overflow limbs, and then often prompted hand sweat more. At this time hand sweat reflects the viscera function disorder, and produce a series of symptoms.

3. The combination of two hands with sweat and constipation represents predominance of yang generating heat, and the patient is easy to see body heat, face red, afraid of heat, upset, favor of cold drink and other symptoms.

4. The combination of sweaty palms and poor appetite means that the spleen and stomach are too humid, and the patient is prone to symptoms such as drowsiness, nocturnal dream, lower limb edema, and abdominal cold diarrhea.

5. The combination of hands with sweat and cold, representing the deficiency of spleen and stomach, the patient is easy to see paleness, stomach pain, lingering, vomiting acid water and other symptoms.

6. Sweaty hands, sweat and a bit of foul smell, represent that the kidneys, the body’s metabolic waste matter and the body’s electrolytes may be out of balance.

7. Tiny urea crystals are found in the resulting sweat and even tickling the palms of the hands, then people had to be alert if they had kidney disease.
